Self Portrait

Self-portraits were not common until the Renaissance when many artists began appearing as characters in their works. I believe a fitting assignment to start this off should be a self-portrait. There are no limits or rules; just a self-portrait.

Renaissance Men

Renaissance men (or women), also known as polymathics, are people who have excelled in a variety of fields. Those who linger in this blog are not required to HAVE excelled in multiple fields, rather, they must have a desire TO excel in multiple fields. It will begin as two friends who share many of the same interests. One is Anesthesiologist and the other is an engineer.

The human brain is split between two dichotomies. The left side is logical, precise and pragmatic. The right side is emotional, creative and impetuous. Most people are left or right side dominant; however there are some who are literally split and use both sides equally. They have many interests, and love both the sciences and the arts. They are not satisfied with only reading about how things work but want to invent better ways to do things. They are not satisfied with looking at nature but want to capture it in a medium of creation.

There will be assignments associated to this blog. The assignments can have anything to do with solving problems of science to creating works of art. Anyone can create an assignment, but they must complete their suggested assignment. Once the deadline has been reached the followers of this blog will teach each other and critique each others work so that they can excel at the specified art. At the end of one week following an assignment the blog will be open to a new assignment and the cycle will continue.

The hope is to spark creative thought and begin a journey towards becoming "universal".
